HAPPY BIRTHDAY LONDON

London Young - C Myles Young Blog Man where has time gone? 14 years ago today my little baby London made her grand entrance into my world. My world has never been the same since. London, you are the sunshine of our life. You are beautiful, smart and independent. You are going to be great and I am not ashamed to tell the whole world that I am your dad. You make me proud. Thanks for coming with me to North Carolina. I hope you enjoy those shoes I bought you (and I thought your mom liked weird shoes). HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LONDON.

I LOVE YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH!

Doing the Evangelist Thing!

Pastor Robert and Lisa Mitchell - C Myles Young BlogKeep me in your prayers this week. I am flying to Fayetteville, North Carolina to preach a "Tent Revival" for some of my long time dear friends. Pastor Robert & Lisa Mitchell are now leading the great church that was established by Elder Jesse Williams. I am thrilled to be going. This will be my first time to preach in the lovely state of North Carolina. I am also excited because I am taking London with me. She will turn 14 while we are with the Mitchells. MAN, I AM GETTING OLD! MY LITTLE BABY IS GROWING UP (LONDON, DON'T FORGET TO TELL THEM UGLY BOYS "YOUR DADDY HAS A SHOTGUN!")
By the way, Ben Vandiver is going to be there on the weekend and together we are going to work with the choir for a big music set on Sunday. It is going to be a blast!

Fayetteville, lets have revival!

The E Group Gathering

The E Group - C Myles Young Blog Hey everybody, I just wanted to let all of you know about a very exciting meeting coming in October. It is going to be a great time for young ministers and those that feel called to preach. It is called "The E Group". The "E" comes from the idea of Empowering, Equipping and Encouraging young men to apostolic ministry. The dates are October 3-4. The location is Hope Center in Redlands, CA. Bro B J Wilmoth and myself are the sponsoring pastors. Bro Jason Calhoun will also be an integral part of this new venture. This meeting has been birthed out of a burden for young men to respond to the call of God. Within the UPCI, ALJC, WPF, ACI and even independent circles there needs to be a fresh crop of young men who will rise up and preach the word with boldness and clarity. This meeting is our attempt at having an influence for the future of the Apostolic Movement. We believe in young men. I hope many of you will make plans to be there. If you know someone who you are acquainted with that is in the developmental stage of ministry or is already active in ministry as a young man, then this will be a great opportunity to network and be Empowered, Equipped and Encouraged. By the way, if you are still under you Pastor, then please make sure and clear your participation with him. It is going to be a great time. I look forward to seeing you there.

Happy Fathers Day

Rev Curtis Young (left) - Pastor Myles Young Blog In my mind he could do anything. He could kick a football further than the entire NFL kicking staff. He could throw a softball underhanded faster than Nolan Ryan could overhanded. He was my dad. He had eyes in the back of his head because he always found out what I did even when he was not looking or out of town. I believed that God told him everything....and maybe he did. I never doubted my father's integrity one time. The older I get the more I realize how great my dad really was. He wasn't rich but I never went without. He always provided me with the things that I needed to become.
My dad was the very same man at home as he was in public. He was honest. He was steadfast. He was a hard-worker. He was a man with a burden for the work of God.
He was a man "driven" by the desire to please God even when pressure to compromise came against him.
I will not be able to spend Fathers Day with him, because He is still "driven" to do the work of God. He is pastoring in Oakland, Ca. and is on the road even as I write this. He is now playing a big role in so many different ministries and has become a mentor to great men such as are pictured above. He makes my heart pound with pride every time he calls me and tells me what God is doing in his ministry.
I know many sons who are pastoring churches that their fathers used to, but my Dad is pastoring the church that I started. That's pretty cool to me.
So Dad, lets meet for a "Sugar-free, vanilla, breve, breve latte" later and talk about how church went today. I love you....HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

KOMODO ISLAND

Komodo Dragon - C Myles Young Blog"Divers Rescued", the title of the news article caught my attention this past week while I was checking my mail and getting my morning latte. 5 divers had been missing for several days off the coast of Indonesia. I did a double take as I read the harrowing account of their survival and rescue. They were evidently diving in a place where 2 seas meet. It is a place of unseen currents. They drifted into places that they never imagined. They wound up on "Komodo Island" which is a sanctuary for Komodo dragons. These creatures can bring down large animals by themselves and are flesh eaters. I read the account of these 5 men's fight for survival. Together they were able to fight off one of these dragons. Thankfully they were rescued before they were over powered by these beast, who often hunt in groups. As I was reading, I thought of friends of mine through the years that drifted into the deep, where unseen currents and trends brought them to shores and places they never imagined. Sadly, too many have been consumed by the dragons that make these lonely islands their hunting grounds. Be careful with drift....the current can shipwreck you. God help us all in these deep troubling waters of life and ministry. Beware, THERE ARE DRAGONS LURKING ON THE SHORES OF THE DEEP. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHERE THE CURRENT IS TAKING YOU!

Build It Right The First Time

Why didn't they do it right the first time? This is the question I have been asking myself over the last few days. As some of you may know, I am adding on to my house. Well, "my house" is somewhat of an overstatement, as I have been living in a one bedroom apartment over a garage so we are finally building "our house". 3 years ago we built what will become the "evangelist quarters" with plans to "add-on" to it. We went through a very tedious design process in order to meet all of the California building codes, not only for what we built 3 years ago but also for what we are now building.
The company that built the first phase failed to do some very important work that was necessary for the addition and as a result I am having to spend extra time and money fixing what should have been done at the beginning. I am sure you can tell I have a really good attitude about it....(Haha!).
While thinking about how the failure to follow the original plans has effected the future of my house, I cannot help but think of people I know that are not following God's plan for their future. So many are trying to take short-cuts in life and ministry. I know people that are in such a hurry to get to the next level of ministry that they have failed to take care of finishing the present duty at hand. Yeah, they covered up the missing parts of my house with mud and dry wall but when it came time to "grow" the support structure that was needed was missing. Be careful that you live life and perform ministry according to the blueprint of God's word and will. God intends on you becoming something greater and bigger than you are today, so don't "short-cut" yourself. Just go ahead and take the time to build your life and ministry right the first time. Its better and will cost you less in the long run.
